Genevieve Sanders AKA Genny the Genie now 17 became interested in the Art
of Magic at eight years old while following Leroy and Lynn Goodenough around
as they performed Restaurant Magic in her parent’s restaurant each weekend. As
she followed and watched in amazement, her interest grew. She asked Leroy if he
would teach her “slight of hand” and then more Magic. After their Saturday
performancesher teacher as, Genny would beg to go home with Leroy to “learn more slight of
hand” and eventually platform magic.
In third grade, Genny had a school project requiring her to write about a famous person in history.
She decided to write about a famous Magician, and she wanted it to be “a Lady Magician. After
searching on the Internet, she settled on Adelaide Hermann, “The Queen of Magic. Her report was
so enthusiastic that ked her to do her first public report on Adelaide. Genny decided
to go in costume” in “old-fashioned clothing” and to do Magic as Adelaide would have per-
formed magic. Genny was only eight years old, and she was a class and school hit.
Over time as Magicians came into Genny’s Restaurant for the Saturday “Close Up Magic” and
companionship, they taught her more effects. Genny performs the Magic she learns with her own
unique style and twists. Her pleasant, easy and charismatic style is a winning and unbeatable combo.
Genny’s first year of magic interest was also the same year; Leroy and Lynn Goodenough decided
to start a Magic Club in the Placerville California area. After advertising in the local newspaper,
fifteen local Magicians’s applied to join. Genny was member #2. The local newspaper reporter
came to the first magic meeting to take notes and pictures for the paper. Genny's picture was taken
performing the Milk Pitcher act and placed on the front page of the paper. Genny continues to
attend the Magic Meetings faithfully.
That was just the beginning of her public acts. As time passed, Genny’s act grew in length and skill.
Her performances include change of costume while her act as Genny the Genie transforming into
